Nova Scotia Cattle Producers believes the secret to a successful future for our industry is working together.  We are proud to be a part of an inceasingly stronger voice working on behalf of Nova Scotia's beef producers. National Associations:

	Canadian Cattlemen’s Association: The CCA is the only national association representing the interests of Canada’s 100,000 beef producers. General information on the organization and the industry can be found on the CCA website.
	Beef Information Centre: The B.I.C. is a national organization formed in 1973 by the Canadian beef producers. B.I.C.’s mandate is to increase consumer demand for beef. Consumers can find recipes, food safety information and nutrition resources on the B.I.C. website.
	Canadian Cattle Identification Agency: The CCIA is a non-profit industry agency incorporated to establish a national cattle identification program in Canada. For information on the rationale and regulations related to the Identification program check out this website.
	Beef Cattle Research Council: The BCRC is a committee established under the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association to sponsor research and technology development in support of the vision of the Canadian beef industry to have high quality Canadian beef products recognized as the most outstanding by Canadian and world consumers. Provincial and Regional Associations:

The Maritime Beef Council NS - PEI - NB Stakeholders in our regional industry know that  immediate further development of the Maritime Beef industry is of paramount importance to the ability of the regional industry to be sustainable and profitable for our producers. Having a regional consensus makes good fiscal, strategic and operational sense for industry and government in Nova Scotia and the other two Maritime provinces.    Therefore, in November 2005, the NS, PEI and NB cattle organizations met to develop strategies for our industry, and the Maritime Beef Council was born.  We produced our first regional strategy plan and have moved forward since then to explore the infrastructure needed for a successful future.  Today, all parties are more committed than ever to continue that work. We have realized a number of benefits from sharing our resources.  We have completed several regional projects and are working on ither regional initiatives and issues.  By creating the MBC, we are able to maintain our legislated provincial roles and also benefit from our regional strength.
