Livestock Dealer Registration

Notice is given to assist in the maintenance of public health and food safety by tracking the whereabouts and origin of beef cattle. The Nova Scotia Cattle Producers hereby give notice on May 24, 2011 in accordance with Section 3 of the NSCP Regulations which states:

“Only a person who holds a valid certificate of registration issued by the Commodity Board is permitted to act as a producer or purchaser.”

This means all producers, buyers and auction facilities must register annually with NSCP in accordance with the Regulations. Licenses expire on December 31 and must be renewed in order to conduct business as a producer or purchaser in Nova Scotia.

An NSCP inspector may inspect the books, records premises and transport vehicles of a producer or purchaser at any time determined by the Commodity Board.

All producers, dealers and auction facilities must renew their registration annually.
